About Us

About Us... Since 1980 The Plant Professionals Inc., locally owned and based in DeWitt Township, has grown with mid- Michigan. Our 7000 square-foot facility on 3 acres features 18 ft. ceilings. This custom facility allows us to ship and acclimate large specimen trees and palms from South Florida's tropical foliage growers.

Each season brings its own color and fragrance as we prepare for and respond to each client's needs. January begins with a flurry of activity as we pack away literally hundreds of trees wreaths and garlands. Poinsettias give way to the vibrant hues of bright bromeliads and the warehouse is filled with tropical plants fresh from Florida.

February brings Valentine's Day, and by March we are planning for spring's arrival - pansies are the flower of choice outdoors along with emerging bulbs planted last fall. April brings serious spring planting and we prepare for commencements in May and June, and finalize details for summer brides.

By the end of June summer color is planted, commencements and Parade of Homes are complete, and we focus on caring for outdoor color. The flower cart takes us to summer festivals and fundraisers for our favorite charities.

We begin to assemble holiday decor samples in July. We also enjoy the particularly beautiful tropical plants which are available at this time. Weddings, garden parties, golf outings and other events fill out our summer calendar.

Fall mums and kale must be planted as the nights grow crisp and fall leaves, and mini pumpkins begin to make their appearance in our floral and event work. In October and early November we finish planning for holiday decorating and plant the spring flowering bulbs which give so much pleasure in spring.

As winter begins, Elves scurry about putting the finishing touches on brightly lit trees and bows on bright poinsettias. There are fragrant bales of fresh-cut greens. The coolers are full of roses and carnations for floral gifts and parties. Homes and businesses must have just the right golden pears or those perfect beaded balls. Where did those white doves fly off to?

By late December we catch our collective breath and appreciate just how much we have to be grateful for during the season of special gifts. We work for very special people, and are thankful for the opportunities and the friendships.

What makes the Plant Professionals Inc. special is not our building, or even our unique products and services. We are here because we want to share our love of plants and flowers with others. Our staff of 20 believes that plants and flowers indoors and out are healthy and beneficial for everyone.
